A Vacation in Red

A quiet seaside getaway curdles into a hunt. The episodes escalate from a brewing storm to a full revelation, with the tightest clue boards of the three stories.

Story overview

A Quiet Escape sets the scene like a holiday brochure: five stays — a royal cruise, an island resort, a water bungalow, a grand hotel and an alpine lodge — each with a type, a country, a weather forecast, a facility and a price. Sunny turns to windy, windy turns to rainy, and by the time the snow settles the vacation has turned into a manhunt.

Across six episodes the boards get noticeably tighter than the first arc: more subjects per grid, more slash-separated cells, and clues that confirm as much as they reveal. The final episode, Revelation, pays off everything the weather forecasts were hinting at.

  1. 01 A Quiet Escape

Five holiday locations, two free answers to start. A warm-up — until you notice how many cells hold two values.

  2. 02 Brewing Storm

The forecast darkens. Weather forecasts become the spine of the clue chain.

  3. 03 Gathering Tension

Guests stop pretending to relax. Adjacency clues tighten around the resort map.

  4. 04 Instrument of Death

A weapon enters the board. Every facility and price now doubles as potential evidence.

  5. 05 Missing Link

One suspect's alibi refuses to fit. The grid forces you to prove a negative.

  6. 06 Revelation

The full picture at last: the tightest board of the arc resolves every forecast, facility and price in one grid.

FAQ

Questions about this arc

Which episode of A Vacation in Red is the hardest?

Most players rate Episode 6 (Revelation) as the peak — it carries the largest subject count and the most double-value cells. Episode 5 (Missing Link) is the common roadblock because of its negation clue.

How do slash-separated cells work?

Both values are correct for that subject at the same time — they are not alternatives. "Cocktail Bar / Hot Spring" means the resort genuinely has both facilities.

Is this arc connected to Beyond the Mirror?

Story arcs are independent plots — no shared characters or answers. You can start with A Vacation in Red without missing any plot, though its boards are tougher than the first arc's.

How long is the "A Vacation in Red" story in Profile Perfect?

Six connected episodes, best played in order. The episode list on this page has a one-line teaser for each, handy for pinpointing where you got stuck.
