Counting 'columns away' incorrectly
Count by column number: C and E are two positions apart, not adjacent. Players often misread '2 columns away' as 'next to each other' because only D lies between C and E; use the A-B-C-D-E order and place Grinning on C and Confused on E.
Splitting the Noon / Night double card
Staff A's Work Time is the combined Noon / Night card, not a single Noon shift. If you split it into only Noon, the two Night cards for Staff D and Staff E will not line up correctly; place double cards as one unit.

Start from the guaranteed highest earner and every later distance clue gets an anchor. The tricky part is reading columns literally instead of by intuition, especially for two-column and farthest clues. Once roles and times are closed out, the leftover person and salary cards complete the grid without extra guesswork. The completion screen confirms all 25 cells are consistent.
