Putting Chemistry next to Martha
The Chemistry student is NOT Martha's neighbor, so Chemistry goes to D (whose only neighbor is C). Putting Chemistry at C (next to B = Martha) breaks the clue.
Giving Christine a high grade
Christine barely passed, and the lowest score is written on D — Christine must be D with Grade C. Pairing her with any higher grade breaks both clues.
Calling A an Essay
Only Martha's paper is an Essay (B). A is the Multi-Choice paper (checkmark icon) — calling A an Essay breaks the clue.
