The guard with the highest pay is still sad — only D takes $$$ with the Sad expression. Putting $$$ on A or C conflicts with the stern/neutral clues and the pay column.
Putting the Dagger on anyone but E
Eldric is the master of the SHORTEST weapon, which is the Dagger — that fixes E. Giving the Dagger to another guard contradicts the shortest-weapon clue.
Misplacing the Watch Tower
Bronn is tasked with the Watch Tower and wields the Sword — the Watch Tower belongs to B. Assigning it elsewhere breaks Bronn's placement and leaves B's post unfilled.
